MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — In a new study by J.D. Power released Wednesday, the Triangle's record-breaking airport was tapped as one of the best in the country.
The study broke down 67 airports in the U.S. by size: mega, large and medium.
The study has Raleigh-Durham International Airport ranked fifth amongst large-sized airports, beating out more well-known destinations like Washington Dulles and LaGuardia, among other airports in New York and D.C.
This comes as RDU announces a new airline and destination Wednesday. CBS 17 is working to find out who will be added to the growing airport.
Over 30,000 surveys from U.S. and Canadian travelers gave RDU top remarks despite numerous airports handling crowded terminals, widespread flight delays and rising costs in running an airport.
