A man slapped with a gobsmacking £32,000 bill after travelling to Morocco for a holiday declared that he was a "victim of a hack or a bug." Dominique, 63, who hails from France, landed the huge bill from his mobile provider, which claimed he'd racked up the sum due to excessive data usage.
The Maule merchant, however, who travels to the North African nation "regularly", claimed that he hadn't "touched" his phone and had previously never been charged more than €140 (about £120).
In total, his provider, Orange, charged him €37,737.11 (about £32,700) after the trip, which occurred last spring. Yet, Orange claimed that it notified long-time customer Dominique about his usage via 16 text messages, reports Le Parisien.
