A 64-year-old Los Angeles man faces a pair of charges on suspicion of hitting and killing a woman while driving along Long Beach Boulevard in North Long Beach last week, according to court records.

Eric Dewayne Moody was charged this week with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence and felony hit-and-run driving resulting in death, court records show. He pleaded not guilty to the charges Tuesday.

Moody was allegedly driving a Chevrolet Camaro southbound on Long Beach Boulevard in the left lane when he hit a woman as she walked eastbound in a crosswalk at 68th Street just after 12:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, police said.

The woman, identified by the medical examiner as 39-year-old Jasmine Martinez, later died at a hospital, police said.
