DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- The Montgomery County Coroner's Office has confirmed that the bodies pulled from the Great Miami River downtown Monday were those of a man and his daughter that had been the subject of a multi-day search last week.

According to a press release from the coroner, the bodies were identified as Oscar Garcia, 28, and Scarlibeth Garcia Montes, 9.

A woman had called them in missing Thursday morning shortly before 6 a.m. Personal items belonging to the pair was later discovered next to the river.

Searchers from multiple districts searched the river near West Monument Avenue Thursday and Friday, pausing only after darkness made searching potentially dangerious Thursday night.
