SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Wednesday will once again be warm, but late-day clouds will move in ahead of big changes.

Valley highs on Wednesday will climb into the upper 90s, with foothill temperatures topping out in the mid-90s. Highs in the Sierra will reach the mid-to-upper 70s.

Skies will start sunny, but by early afternoon, clouds will begin moving up from the south.

Clouds will continue to blanket the area through Thursday, with a few storms possible in the coastal range and in Alpine County and points south in the Sierra.

By Thursday night, clouds will thicken further, bringing showers overnight. There is also potential for a few thunderstorms across the region, including the valley.
