A decomposing body was found in the trunk of a stolen car in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
NBC10 reported that police responded to a 911 call at about 10:30 p.m. about a foul odor coming from a Dodge Charger that was parked along the 200 block of North Bambrey Street.
The trunk was forced open and a decomposing body was found inside.
The body was wrapped up and officials have not yet been able to determine the dead person’s sex or race, much less their identity.
Police said the car had been reported stolen from an area in the west part of the city on Saturday. The vehicle was towed away and will be examined for fingerprints and DNA.
Police told NBC10 they hope surveillance camera footage will aid in the investigation.
