A Westmoreland County man accused of putting a bomb under his former landlord’s lawnmower has been arrested.

James M. Sever, 54, of New Alexandria, was spotted riding an e-bike along a trail at about 7 p.m. Tuesday by an off-duty trooper in Center Township, Indiana County, WPXI reported .

He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at State Police barracks in Indiana County

Authorities have been searching for Sever since July 25, when he was charged with attempted homicide, weapons of mass destruction, risking catastrophe and related offenses in connection with the explosion.

Sever’s former landlord told police that an explosion occurred when he attempted to start his riding mower on July 20 in the garage of a property he owns in Salem Township.
