GAYLORD — According to the Gaylord Police Department, a crowd of about 400 attended a vigil on Tuesday, Sept. 16 to mourn the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, the founder of the advocacy group Turning Point USA, was shot by a rifle-wielding gunman during an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. Utah officials Tuesday formally charged Tyler Robinson, 22, with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice, witness tampering and the commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray said he would seek the death penalty.
