A Newcastle-based entertainment and bowling firm has taken over Platform, the events space formerly occupied by The Arches.

Lane 7, which has been reportedly looking for a site in Glasgow since 2018 , already owns a LevelX site in Glasgow’s St Enoch Centre, and has now acquired the iconic venue underneath Central Station, reports insider.co.uk .

Headquartered in the north east of England, the business has 20 Lane7 bowling sites across the UK and Europe, including venues in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

Following the change in ownership, both parties insist it’s ‘business as usual’ for the 35,000 sq ft space covering six interconnected railways arches – with Lane 7 confirming that all booked events this year will go ahead as planned.
