ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — A Canadian woman will spend over five years in prison after she was found with multiple stolen guns during a traffic stop in East Texas that she got from a firearms trafficker.

Jahtaya O’Dayjah Hamilton, 24, of Ontario, Canada, pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm. She was then sentenced to 63 months in federal prison Tuesday.

Court information showed on Nov. 6, 2024, she traveled from Ontario, Canada to Houston, where she picked up 22 firearms, including four stolen firearms and a short-barrel rifle, from an unknown firearms trafficker. She hired a rideshare driver to take her from Houston to Little Rock, Arkansas.

She tried to get the driver to take her to New York. Ultimately, she was stopped in Angelina County for a traffic violation.
