One year after the Heart of the Valley YMCA filed for bankruptcy, the organization has now exited the process after federal judge Clifton R. Jessup, Jr., on Sept. 11, signed an order ending the proceeding.
“With the restructuring now complete, the YMCA will continue to expand access to vital community programs—ranging from youth development and family wellness to outreach initiatives that address health, education, and social responsibility,” the Huntsville area YMCA said in a statement.
“The organization is committed to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background or financial means, can benefit from the Y’s life-changing programs.”
The Y filed for bankruptcy in August 2024 after $15 million in loan repayment became due.
