RIO RANCHO, N.M. —
Rio Rancho Public Schools superintendent Dr. V. Sue Cleveland has announced her retirement after leading the school district since its founding.
Cleveland will step down from her role later in the school year after serving as superintendent since February 1994. The exact date of retirement will be determined with a transition expected in spring 2026.
The Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education will begin a search for the district's new leader in the coming weeks.
