New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart told reporters during the shootaround ahead of Wednesday's WNBA playoff Game 2 against the Phoenix Mercury that she was diagnosed with a sprained MCL in her left knee. She said she plans to play on Wednesday, Sept. 17, even though she is listed as questionable.

Stewart was injured during the overtime 76-69 victory in Game 1 against the Mercury. After catching a pass, Stewart drove past the Mercury's Alyssa Thomas, planted her left leg and completed a layup while being fouled by Satou Sabally. She fell to the ground and clutched her left knee. Although Stewart was able to walk off the court after the fall, she was seen walking with a noticeable limp following the game. Stewart did not practice on Tuesday, but she was active during Wednesday's shootaround and said she'd be ready for Game 2.

Stewart has averaged 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season for the defending champion Liberty. They will host the Mercury at the Barclays Center on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
