Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner is entering training camp at a much lighter weight than a season ago.
The Oilers netminder, set to enter his fourth NHL season, is listed on the training camp roster as weighing 205 lb. That is 25 lb less than the 2024-25 campaign, when he was listed at 230 lb.
“Stuart Skinner looks completely different. He looks quicker, more agile, and, when you see him up close, it’s obvious he’s dropped some weight,” Bob Stauffer of Oilers Now said during a conversation with GM Stan Bowman.
Bowman, who took over as GM of the Oilers ahead of the 2024-25 season, acknowledged Stauffer’s comment when it came to his team’s starting goalie.
“I actually saw Stu earlier this week in the kitchen before going on the ice. The first thing I noticed was he looked th
