PHOENIX — The owner of a behavioral health facility in Mesa has been ordered to pay millions of dollars in restitution after he admitted to fraudulently billing Arizona's Medicaid system, officials said.
Kenneth Harrison, 45, of Georgia was sentenced Monday in federal court to 52 months in prison after pleading guilty to health care fraud and money laundering.
Harrison owned an outpatient counseling service called Aurtism and applied to be a medical provider with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System in 2019. The defendant reportedly did not disclose his ownership interest in Aurtism because he worried AHCCCS would deny his application due to his criminal history, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of Arizona.
