WHITEFISH POINT -- The Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical society has shared more details on how it will commemorate 50 years since the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior this coming November.

A public ceremony will be held outdoors at the Whitefish Point lighthouse on November 10th at 2:00 p.m.

A second, private ceremony for family members only, will be held in the Shipwreck Museum main gallery and start at 7:00 p.m.

It will be livestreamed on multiple platforms.

The Historical Society says both events will include speakers who will highlight the story of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Anyone planning to attend should note parking is limited around the museum and Whitefish Point.
