SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Thurston High School students staged a walkout Wednesday morning in protest of the district's response to a teacher's controversial social media post.
Drama teacher Bobby Nove shared news of Charlie Kirk's murder on Facebook, adding "Good" to the post. This sparked outrage among parents and students, leading to a flood of emails and calls demanding Nove's leave and a walkout protest by students on Sept. 17.
Despite the uproar, Nove remains at the school. Springfield Public Schools spokesperson Brian Richardson emphasized the district's commitment to a safe and respectful environment but refrained from discussing specific personnel actions.
