CORVALLIS, Ore. - Corvallis firefighters had a busy 24-hour period of multiple emergency response calls that began with a brush fire on Thursday afternoon, according to the Corvallis Fire Department.
CFD officials said that CFD fire crews responded on the afternoon of Sept. 17 to a brush fire in the Oak Creek area. Initially reported as a half-acre blaze, it was contained to less than a quarter-acre, affecting grass, brush, and firewood. Crews extinguished the fire using three engine crews and hand-dug a fire line around the area.
At about 4:15 p.m. on the same day, CFD responded to a single-vehicle accident near Elliot Circle, where the vehicle entered a waterway. Fortunately, the driver was able to self-extricate and was uninjured.
