A 22-year-old motorcyclist who died after crashing into a light pole in Perris was identified by authorities Wednesday as a resident of the city.
The Riverside County coroner’s office said Zacary Korman was fatally injured shortly after 9:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 2200 block of Murrieta Road.
Deputies responded to the area of Murrieta Road south of Orange Avenue and found Korman unresponsive on the side of the roadway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Jeremy Bracey said Korman was traveling southbound on Murrieta Road from Orange Avenue when he lost control and struck a light pole.
It was unclear what caused the crash.
Korman was taken to Riverside University Health System Medical Center, where he later died.
