ATLANTA (WSAV) — Georgia Governor Brian Kemp commented on the Sept. 4 Homeland Security and ICE operation at the Hyundai plant in Ellabell, Georgia, while at a groundbreaking event for a Rivian plant on Tuesday.
The operation resulted in 475 workers being detained, reportedly the largest operation in the history of Homeland Security Investigation, ICE announced.
Most of the workers were reportedly South Korean nationals and have since returned to South Korea after being detained.
It was the first time Kemp publicly acknowledged the operation, and he responded to questions about other businesses' future following the raid.
"I'm not going to be naive to the fact that they didn't pay attention to what happened last week," Kemp said.
