A reboot of “ Miami Vice ” is heading to theaters in 2027 from Universal and Joseph Kosinski , the director behind this year’s racing hit “F1” and billion-dollar blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick.” It will release in theaters on Aug. 6, 2027.
The new movie “explores the glamour and corruption of mid-80’s Miami” and is “inspired by the pilot episode and first season of the landmark television series that influenced culture and set the style of everything from fashion to filmmaking.”
Casting is currently underway for “Miami Vice,” and production will begin next year. The movie will be filmed for Imax.
