Agawam, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Arborists and contractors volunteer to make sure the final resting place of those who served our country remain safe and beautiful.

Volunteers from tree companies in our area went to the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Agawam to make sure the final resting place of those who served our country remains beautiful and safe. This is actually part of a nationwide Day of Service at Properties Honoring Veterans. Western Mass News reporter Matt Price spoke with volunteers about what it means to give back.

Phil Schafer owns Arbormax Tree Care LLC in Longmeadow. His job is to make sure trees are pruned and even removed should they be a hazard anywhere. “My grandfather was in World War II. Both my grandmother and grandfather are buried here.”
