PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DNCR) announced that it is launching a redesigned weekly fall foliage report, which will feature regional updates, photos and expert tips.

The updated report, which will launch Sept. 25, will be posted every Thursday during peak foliage season on the DCNR's website. Notably, Pennsylvania has a longer and more varied fall foliage season than any other state in the nation - or anywhere in the world. The Commonwealth is the meeting ground of northern trees that flourish only on mountain tops farther south and southern species that are at the northern limits of their range.

Northern tree species include: • Gray and paper (white) birches • Mountain maple • American mountain ash • Quaking aspen
