STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A long-standing transportation service in Centre County is coming to an end after nearly three decades.
Centre LifeLink EMS announced it will discontinue its non-emergency van service effective Sept. 30, citing declining transport volume and financial strain.
The service was first launched in 1998 to meet a growing need for non-emergency transportation in the region. However, officials said usage has dropped significantly in the last five years, making it unsustainable to continue operations.
The organization said it values the patients and families who relied on the service and encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to call (814) 231-8988 for assistance in transitioning to other transportation options.
