Waterloo ringette bench boss Courtney Proudfoot was one of 15 coaches honoured at the Ontario Coaching Excellence Awards this past weekend.

Proudfoot currently coaches the Under-12 A Waterloo Wildfire.

The awards were presented by the Coaches Association of Ontario, in partnership with Hydro One and the Ontario Ministry of Sport, and kicked off National Coaches Week, which ends on Sunday.

Proudfoot focused on building confident, resilient athletes in a team-first, inclusive environment.

Her passion and commitment to the team was evident whether she was leading drills, cheering from the bench or showing up in a tutu for team spirit.
