The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office recommends not disposing of munitions, even replicas, in trash, as it could cause a 911 response. Like this one.
Previous story: Authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area near 189th and Grover Streets to 191st Avenue Tuesday afternoon after a hand grenade was found.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted on X that “a garbage truck driver found a grenade in the back of his truck. The Omaha Police Department bomb squad is en route.”
