Matthew Silverstone, one of the two students shot at Evergreen High School last week, is still fighting for his life, his uncle said Wednesday.
“Every day, we have glimmers of hope, we take every little baby step in the right direction and celebrate it,” Kris Koehler said in a recorded video shared by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. “But to see him, to see him there, it is great when he will squeeze a hand. But at the same time, it is so painful to see that anyone, especially a kid, would have to endure that.”
The family of Matthew Silverstone, the critically injured survivor of the Evergreen H.S. shooting, would like for the community to know more about their loved one.
