SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - There’s an ongoing battle between state GOP and local GOP.

Hoosier Conservative Voices gathered Wednesday outside of the County-City Building to respond to a letter from the state GOP written to the St. Joseph County GOP Chair, Jackie Horvath.

The letter comes after Horvath allowed County Council President Dan Schaetzle to remain an active Republican Party member despite being ruled as “not in good standing” with the local GOP.

Two former party members filed complaints against Horvath, stating in-part:

“Absolutely no SJCGOP party notification whatsoever that County Councilman Dan Schaetzle was declared by the state as a Republican Not in Good Standing and the ramifications of that. This means that Chairwoman Horvath did not communicate with members about this
