AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Organizations around the state met in Augusta on Thursday with the ultimate goal of ending veteran homelessness in Maine.

The Homeless Veterans Action Committee has been part of the Maine community for nearly a decade. H.V.A.C. is made up of several organizations that seek to meet annually discussing the approach and the data of the previous year.

“We believe that we can end veteran homelessness here in Maine but we believe it’s going to take all of us to come together. We use a one-team approach and we believe Mainers want to see an end to veteran homelessness,” answered Senior Director of Social Work for Preble Street Dan Hodgkins.

Preble Street was one of the organizations at the event and is a part of H.V.A.C.
