PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Peoria man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening animal control employees with a knife.
James William Brazee, 54, was identified and arrested on preliminary charges of aggravated assault and animal cruelty and taken to the jail.
Peoria Police were called around 4:35 p.m. to the 2600 block of West Garden Street for a man reportedly threatening Peoria County Animal Protection Services and being armed with a knife.
PCAPS employees told police that they had been called to the home on a report of a malnourished dog.
Five dogs and four puppies were found, reportedly all appearing malnourished, infested with fleas, suffering from sores and living in poor conditions.
