PORTLAND, Maine — Portland's Public Health Clinic has expanded its fall walk-in clinic hours to provide no-cost flu and COVID-19 vaccines for children and uninsured adults, city officials announced Wednesday.

The clinic at 39 Forest Avenue will now be open Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for eligible walk-ins. Flu vaccines are available immediately, while COVID-19 vaccines will be offered soon.

Children ages 6 months through 18 years and uninsured adults 19 and older are eligible for the vaccines at no cost.

A standing order from the Maine CDC , issued last week under the direction of Gov. Janet Mills, allows residents to receive COVID-19 vaccinations without a prescription from their health care provider.
