VIENNA, Ill. (WSIL) -- The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a special bell-ringing event at the Vienna Public Library on Wednesday, September 17.
The ceremony was part of the celebrations for Constitution Week.
Vienna High School FFA students presented the flags during the event.
Richard Swiney from the Faith Harvest Assembly of God Church delivered the invocation.
The Vienna High School choir also participated in the ceremony.
David Oliver, president of the Johnson County Genealogical and Historical Society, gave the benediction.
Constitution Day marks the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, by thirty-nine individuals. It acknowledges all who are U.S. citizens by birth or naturalization.
