FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill.(WSIL) -- The ongoing drought has impacted lawn care businesses, slowing down operations and forcing them to adapt.

Aaron's Lawn Care in Johnston City typically mows yards through the end of September and sometimes later.

This year, he says they might not even make it that long.

"We went from probably one of the wettest springs even into summer we've probably ever experienced to yards hardly growing now," Owner Aaron Strunk said.

He says the drought has significantly reduced the frequency of mowing, with some clients not needing service for a month and a half. This change has affected the income of many lawn care businesses.

"It takes us from going mowing yards weekly to where you are here every two weeks," Strunk said.
