The Region 9 girls tennis season is wrapping up this week, with all seven teams competing in a tournament on Friday and Saturday to decide the winner of the region crown.
Desert Hills looks to be the favorite going in, as the Thunder ended head-to-head region play on Sept. 12 with a 5-0 home sweep of Crimson Cliffs.
“It has been a wonderful season so far,” Desert Hills head coach Emily Christensen told St. George News afterward. “Our players have worked really hard to win all of their region matches and are confident we can repeat this winning streak at our upcoming region tournament.”
Desert Hills’ perfect 6 -0 record in region play included sweeps of Pine View, Dixie, Hurricane and Crimson Cliffs, in addition to narrow 3-2 wins over both Snow Canyon (on Sept. 9) and Cedar (on Aug. 21
