Washington County Sheriff Nate Brooksby provided additional details regarding the surrender and arrest of the alleged shooter in the death of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was killed during an event in Orem last week.

The case involves 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson, of St. George, who has been charged with capital murder in the shooting during a Sept. 10 event at Utah Valley University.

Kirk, a 31-year-old father of two, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was transported to Timpanogos Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Robinson was later identified by police as the suspect, arrested and transported to Utah County Jail two days later.
