VANCOUVER, Wash. — A father is dead and his 6-year-old son hospitalized in critical condition after a driver hit the two in Vancouver.
The crash occurred on Northeast 137th Avenue around 1:20 p.m.
A witness told KGW that a man and a child were hit; the man was killed, with the child taken to the hospital. The witness added that it appeared as if the driver was going too fast, considering the heavy construction on the stretch of the road.
Police later confirmed that a dad and his son had been walking when they were hit by the car. The man, who was not identified, was found lying in the roadway when emergency responders arrived and did not survive his injuries.
The 6-year-old boy was found in a ditch around 10 feet away from the crash, then was transported to Randall Children’s Hospital
