HIGH POINT, N.C. — A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder after local deputies say he killed a 36-year-old woman whose body has not been found yet.
According to the Guilford County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 1200 block of Blackberry Ridge Drive in High Point on September 9 after receiving a call about suspicious activity. Following multiple interviews and a search of the area, deputies "located a crime scene and collected evidence."
Deputies say that 36-year-old Amber Marie Schimmelpfenning was last seen on midnight on September 9. After being unable to locate Schimmelpfenning, the Sheriff's Office said it began a missing persons/homicide investigation.
Detectives ultimately obtained warrants to arrest 40-year-old Ricky Lam on the following charges:
