A police officer spent 26 minutes investigating reports of gunshots and screaming the night Lauren Semanchik and Tyler Webb were killed at her Hunterdon County home, dispatch recordings show.

But the patrol officer left the Upper Kingtown Road area of Franklin Township at about 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 1 without locating anything amiss.

“I checked both areas, unable to hear any gunshots, clear me out with a report,” the Franklin officer, Sgt. Kevin Bollaro, says in the recordings, obtained by NJ Advance Media.

Bollaro had acknowledged the call to investigate the gunfire and screaming at 7:14 p.m.
