Two people were critically injured after a skydiving-related accident Wednesday at the Jean Airport, according to the Metro Police Department.
Sgt. Dana Pickerel said a parachute accident, which he referred to as an “isolated incident,” left two people with critical injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration, in an email from a spokesman, confirmed that an accident happened around noon Wednesday.
Pickerel said the accident was not being investigated as a criminal matter. The FAA is the lead investigating agency for the matter, the spokesman said.
The FAA, according to the spokesman, investigates the packing of the main and reserve parachutes for skydiving endeavors, along with the rules of flight for the pilot and aircraft.
