NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven restaurant is celebrating 50 years of business in the Elm City.

Claire's Corner Copia is known for its healthy menu and bringing a community together. Many people, including Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz (D-Conn.), came out to celebrate their milestone anniversary.

"I have such fond memories, Claire. I have been on dates here with my husband before I got married here," Bysiewicz said.

In the '70's, a menu filled with vegetarian selections was not an easy sell to customers.
