METAIRIE, La. — New technology is not only making neck and back surgery safer, but it's also helping doctors fix medical problems on patients with extremely debilitating conditions.

Doctors have dramatic before and after cases where patients are no longer in pain and are now walking again.

Milo Rosas is back doing what he adores. For 50 years he has been known for his exquisite works, building custom cabinetry, but last summer he had leg pain. Doctors medicated him for months for sciatica, but it didn't help.

“He brought me in there. Did an MRI. ‘Son, you're full of cancer.’ I was flipped out. I thought I was gone, gone, gone,” said Milo Rosas, 70.

Lung cancer had spread to the bones with a mass in his pelvis.
