LISBON An honors program at a school in Lisbon has been awarded a mini-grant from the Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Board, according to a Wednesday news release.

The David Anderson Jr. Sr. High School issued a news release on Wednesday that outlined what the school's National Honor Society (NHS) program had received the award for.

Students within the David Anderson Jr. Sr. High School NHS program and their advisor, Lisa Baker, applied to the mini-grant in 2024, aiming to display encouraging messaging around the school on bathroom stall doors.

NHS Seniors Kady Dunn and Abby Ammon commented in the release on the goal of the project.

Dunn said in the release," Seeing the signs with encouraging words helps us take a step back and stay positive."
