BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A 34-year-old Mexican citizen has been ordered to federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States after deportation, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced

Fidel Ramirez-Mancilla from Puebla, Mexico, pleaded guilty on June 27.

According to court records, Ramirez-Mancilla was convicted for aggravated felony of assault with the intent to commit mayhem, rape, sodomy, or oral copulation.

In December 2011, he was deported from the United States with no permission to return; however, authorities encountered him again on May 19, north of the Rio Grande Valley.

U.S. District Judge Rolando Olvera ordered Ramirez-Mancilla to serve a year and three months in federal prison.
