VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) - One person has been killed and a child was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon.

Vancouver Police say an adult and a child were hit by a car while walking down the street along NE 137th Ave just south of NE 65th St.

Officers responded to the crash at around 1:20 p.m. arrested the man who they say was driving the car. It’s currently unclear what the driver will be charged with.

Police say NE 137th will remain closed between NE 49th St and NE Fourth Plain Blvd as crews continue working at the scene.
