BOSSIER CITY, La. - Two Bossier City police officers were released from the hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries during a standoff and shots-fired call at the Villaggio Apartments, authorities said. The suspect involved in the incident is dead.
Police were called to the 5200 block of Venecia Drive after a man told family members he was suicidal and barricaded himself inside an apartment, warning he would shoot anyone who entered. SWAT officers were called around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
While attempting to detain the man, two officers were shot but received injuries described as non-life-threatening. They were transported to a local medical facility and later released.
