BELTON, Texas (KWTX) - The City of Belton welcomed a new convenience store that just one year ago would not have been able to sell any alcohol because of its location.

Freshville Market is located at 7379 W. US Hwy 190 (I-14) in Belton.

Under the city’s old alcohol sale ordinance, the land where Freshville Market sits would have been within a “dry zone,” meaning it wouldn’t be able to sell alcohol.

That Belton city ordinance, which dated back to prohibition era, is no more thanks, in part, to Freshville Market sparking the fight to make alcohol sales legal throughout the entirety of the Belton city limits.
