These scammers have your information, like your birthday or even maiden name, which makes it appear legit.
These rip-offs include everything from home rentals or tax help.
Mason says a big one is car warranties.
"Too many times we've had complaints where people who paid money," she says, "because they were told that they could use it for any mechanic or anywhere else they would like to take it or a dealer." However, Mason says, find out quickly that this is not true.
Another red flag is offers for employment that are definitely not legit.
