Nanaimo City Council may be moving forward with a project that voters rejected during an Alternative Approval Process last fall.

At its Finance and Audit Committee meeting on Wednesday, Nanaimo city council prioritized work on three projects that require long-term borrowing: two new public works buildings, a new RCMP detachment and a new south end community centre.

“What council did this morning was give essentially direction to staff to carry on with further work on a number of projects we are considering. None of which are absolutely guaranteed to go ahead,” said Leonard Krog, Nanaimo’s mayor.
