OMAHA, Neb. —

The Riverfront is getting some new art.

For the first time since the reopening of Gene Leahy Mall, the Riverfront sculpture garden is installing a new rotation of artwork.

The five new pieces need a lot of space and muscle to get into position.

MECA said the installation is possible thanks to Kaneko and the International Sculpture Center.

The sculptures were chosen by a panel of jurors who narrowed down the potential finalists.

"We'll have a discussion with them that's open to the public on Oct. 3, so if anyone's more curious about why these pieces, why they're perfect for the Gene Leahy Mall Sculpture Garden, they can come and listen to the jurors who picked them and describe why they're the perfect fit," said Grace Safford.
