Fires along Highway 12 near Yakima caused by dragging chains

YAKIMA, Wash. – Four fires ignited along Highway 12 between Yakima and Naches due to chains dragging from a semi truck, according to Gleed Fire Chief Ken Frazier.

The fires have since been extinguished.

Frazier confirmed that no injuries occurred and no structures were threatened by the fires.

The fires collectively burned a couple of acres in size.
